Description
Heparan sulfate (HS) is a heparin-like GAG that exists widely as a proteoglycan component of many cell-surface receptors and a part of the extracellular matrix.
Albeit with the same repeating disaccharide units, heparan sulfate has a lower sulfation degree than heparin, and more glucuronic acids.
Heparan sulfate regulates a variety of biological processes, including development, angiogenesis, blood coagulation and tumour metastasis. There are lots of studies on HS in the world.
Heparan sulfate is known to be an impurity in heparin supply. Many methods have been established to analyse heparan sulfate, such as HPLC, NMR and CE.
Asnail provides highly pure heparan sulfate that could be used as a reference substrate in the determination of heparin and as a reagent in various studies involving heparan sulfate.
