Description
Automatic immunological test with latex optimized for quantitative determination of D-Dimer in human citrate plasma. Available for application on clinical and coagulation analysers.
D-Dimer determination is common for thrombosis diagnosis and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy. High D-Dimer values are present in clinical conditions such as deep venous thrombosis (DVP), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and pulmonary embolism (PE). D-Dimer values also increase during pregnancy, but very high levels are associated with complications. The absence of an increase in the D-Dimer value, associated with a low clinical probability of thrombotic risk, has been shown to have a strong negative predictive value for DVP and PE.
